In June 2006, I was patch tested for multiple dermatological sensitivities. I had followed what the doctor had said very closely. But it seems over the last few years I have allowed things to creep up and get into my life that should not be. I am going to provide a list of what I am sensitive to and will up date this list after testing in January 2018.

We will start with food:

Gluten-wheat, rye, barley; Corn; White Potatoes and all derivatives from all of the above.

This is a combination of the Cosmetic series and North American Screening series:

2,6-Di-tert-butyl-r-cresol (BHT)

4-Chloro-3-cresol (PCMC)

4-Chloro-3,5-xylenol (PCMX)

abitol

Cinnamic aldehyde

CI+Me-Isothiazolinone (MCI/MI) (Kanthon CG, 200pp)

Cocamidopropyl Betaine

Colbalt (II) Chloride hexahydrate

Colophony (Fir, Pine, Juniper, Cedarwood)

Ethyl Acrylate

Euxyl K-400

ethylene urea/melamine formaldehyde resin

Gold sodium sulfate

hexahydro-1,3,5-tris-(2-hydroxyethyl) methacrylate

hexamethylenetetramine (hexamine)

Neomycin Sulfate

Paraben mix

Polyoxy ethylene sorbitan mono oleate (Polysorbate 80)

potassium dichromate

Propylene glycol

Sorbic acid

sorbitan monooleate (Span 80)

sorbitan sesquioleate

Thirmerosal

That is one long list and with everything that those are in….. It is like when people ask me:

‘What do you eat?’, now the question will

‘What do you use, wear, eat, live in, etc?’

So far I can recommend,

Homemade tooth powder using arrowroot starch, baking soda, salt, and just a few drop of doTERRA Wild Orange Essential oil.

Use a floss that is unwaxed and unflavored, otherwise you will need to become proficient with a dental pic and /or invest in a water flosser.

Homemade Facial cleanser of Arrowroot Starch and Honey with distilled water.

Home made green tea toner with distilled water.

Home made Baby Bee Bath made with honey and castile liquid soap with distilled water.

Washing my hair is baking soda and distilled water or JR Liggett’s Shampoo bar.

Hair rinse is simple cider vinegar and distilled water.

Now I am sure you are wondering how much all this distilled water is costing me. We own a water distiller (Durastill 30) with a 10 gallon holding tank. We purchased this about 5 years ago when we found out my husband had sleep apnea. But I knew I would use to craft homemade body care and cosmetics plus making herbals. It has been a great blessing not having to run to the store and pay for multiple gallons of distilled water.

I am currently in the process of hunting down cosmetics that will work too.

For now think very super simple and easy.
